Italy’s football league have overturned Gabriel Batistuta’s two-match ban imposed for a clash with Reggina defender Ivan Franceschini.

The decision to annul the ban comes just two days after it had been imposed.

The league justified their decision by suggesting that the incident fell within the acceptable para, meters of the game.

The league had said originally cited Batistuta for elbowing Franceschini with “had violent intent” but they have since rescinded the decision.

Batistuta joined Inter on loan last month from rivals Roma as cover for injured striker Hernan Crespo.
