Birmingham are planning to revive their interest in Poland striker Emmanuel Olisadebe after talks to bring Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison to St Andrews collapsed.

After failing to agree a fee for Republic of Ireland international Morrison, City boss Steve Bruce has now swwitched his attention to 23-year-old Olisadebe after setting up a œ4m deal with Greek club Panathinaikos.

‘The Morrison talks have broken down and we will now turn our attentions to the Polish international Emmanuel Olisadebe,” confirmed Birmingham’s managing director Karen Brady on the club’s website.

Nigeria-born Olisadebe has been a target foor the club for severa weeks but a deall looked unlikely after the player’s agent suggested that the player had received better offers.

“I have at least one better offer than the one from Birmingham,” agent Antonio Caliendo said.

“I can’t say much more, but Juventus and Chelsea were asking about Olisadebe so I’m telling him to take some more time before fixing anything final with Birmingham.

“He should play in a better team than Birmingham. Next week I should know more about his transfer.”

But, interest in the Polish international has subsided and a move to Birmingham looks a distinct possibility.
