Graeme Souness has admitted that Blackburn would be prepared to sell midielder David Dunn, if they received any serious offers for the England under-21 player.

The Blackburn boss is reported to be unhappy with the young midfielder’s lifestyle, which he believes is undermining the form of a player who until recently was considered one of England’s brightest prospects.

Souness told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: “We would reluctantly sell David Dunn.”

“I don’t want to sell him, but maybe at this stage in David’s career, he needs someone else to be talking to him,’ Souness added to Sky Sports news.

“He’s had a disappointing season so far and he’s not come anywhere near the standard he’s set himself.”

“Maybe in David’s case there are other things going onin his life that have made him take his eye off the ball.

“That is not something I’m prepared to accept.”

Whether Souness was merely delivering a wake-up call to the 23-year-old midfielder, or whether the player is indeed available for sale, remains to be seen.
