Tim Cahill has signed a new four-year deal that will keep him at Everton until 2014.
The 30-year-old Australia international had two years remaining on his previous contract but Everton were eager for him to sign a new long-term deal.
The World Cup-bound midfielder has scored 56 goals in 209 games since arriving from Millwall in 2004.
Speaking just before the end of the season Cahill said he loved the club and would happily “sign for life”.
Cahill has won 37 caps for Australia, scoring 10 goals, and will be representing the Socceroos at this summer’s World Cup finals in South Africa.
