Lyon have confrmed that they are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Mauro Camoranesi.

The Italian have already lost four members of their squad following relegation to Serie B next season, and more are expeted to join the exodus in the coming weeks.

Lyon sporting director Bernard Lacombe has admitted an interest in the Italian World Cup winner Camoranesi.

“The priority remains the arrival of a player on the right side that would replace the expected departure of Sidney Govou and the already settled departure of Pierre-Alain Frau,” Lacombe told But!.

“We are attracted by Camoranesi. We had a talk with chairman (Jean-Michel) Aulas.

“We don’t want to take advantage of the difficult Juventus situation. Moreover, there are two Frenchman at the head of Juve, which is important.”

Lyon president Aulas is also thought to be keen to sign Juventus striker David Trezeguet, but Lacombe seemed less keen on the prospect of buying the French international.

Lacombe added: “David Trezeguet? Of course we appreciate that player, but that is not the priority.”
