Celtic have taken Brazilian striker Marcio Amoroso on trial with a view to signing him as a replacement for Henrik Larsson.
Amoroso, who was sacked by Borussia Dortmund earlier this year after a series of rows with club officials, was due to hold talks with Celtic boss Martin O’Neill.
His advisor Nivaldo Baldo, who also acts as his physiotherapist, believes there is a strong possibility of a deal being struck.
“It’s possible, very real,” Baldo said.
“They treated us very well and we are impressed.
“Celtic would not have brought us here to make a deal if they could not afford him. If they want it it is possible.”
Amoroso cost Dortmund a Bundesliga €25m when he signed from Parma in 2001.
