Charlton have completed the signing of China captain Zheng Zhi on loan until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old, who plays in defence or midfield, joins from Shandong Luneng with Charlton having an option to buy him on a permanent basis.
Zheng is the club’s first signing since the appointment of Alan Pardew as their new manager.
Zheng enjoyed a brief trial at Charlton last month before representing China in the Asian Games.
