Chelsea have completed the signing of Bolton defender Tal Ben Haim on a four-year deal.

The 25-year-old Israel international was out-of-contract and although he was a target for former newcastle, now managed by former Bolton boss Sam Allardyce, Ben Haim has chosen to sign for Chelsea.

He becomes Chelsea’s third summer addition following the captures of Claudio Pizarro and Steve Sidwell.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho tried to sign Ben Haim in January and his failure to conclude a proposed £2m deal was cited as one of the main reasons behind his alleged rift with owner Roman Abramovich.
