Joe Cole has played down reports that he is poised to hand in a transfer request at Stamford Bridge.
Rumours have been circulating that Cole is fed up with his peripheral roole at Stamford Bridge and is set to hand in a transfer request.
Cole’s agent David Geiss told BBC Sport: ‘There is no truth in this. There have been no discussions about Joe’s future at Chelsea.
“Joe is a Chelsea player and there have been no talks whatsover.”
The speculation, however, is likely to intensify following the signing of Dutch winger Arjen Robben.
Cole has yet to complete a full 90 minutes in the Premiership since moving from West Ham in a £6.6m deal six months ago, but despite the speculation, coach Claudio Ranieri recently moved to play down the rumours.
“Joe is a highly valued member of Chelsea’s first team squad and is playing an important role in our exciting season,” said Ranieri.
