Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo has been ruled out for six weeks after suffering a calf injury.

The Argentine international limped off during the 1-0 home defeat to Liverpool and immediately after the match it was feared he would be out for three weeks. However, the initial diagnoisis proved to be optimistic and now Crespo is expected to be out of action for six weeks.

He joinscompatriot Juan Sebastian Veron on the sidelines – Veron is currently out with a back injury.
