Bayern Munich midfielder Sebastian Deisler is still optimistic of making the German squad for the EURO 2004 finals despite not playing competitively since November.
Deisler has been suffering from depression and was booked into a clinic dollowing Bayern’s 4-1 win over Borussia Dortmund on November 8.
However, Germany coach Rudi Voller has not ruled out the possibility of including the 24-year-old playmaker in his squad for Portugal.
“I am really happy that Rudi Voller said the door was not shut for me,” Deisler told ARD television.
“I just have to wait and see but inside myself I am confident of making the European championships.”
