Vicente del Bosque has admitted he would like to return to Real Madrid after previously claiming that he would not be interested in working for the club again.
“Why shouldn’t I return at some time,” Del Bosque told radio station Onda Cero.
“My track record is one of the best when compared to others being linked with the job.
“I have never done anything to damage the club.”
Del Bosque was sacked in June 2003, the day after the club collected their 29th league championship title.
He steered Real to two Champions League successes and two league titles in his three and a half years in charge.
In June 2004, he said he had rejected the offer of a return as assistant coach, and has said that he was unhappy with the way he was fired by the club.
He had a spell in charge of Turkish side Besiktas, but was sacked after less than eight months in charge in January 2005.
