Parma defender Martin Djetou has revealed that he is the latest French player to head to the Premier League by agreeing a deal with Fulham.

Writing on his personal website, Djetou confirmed that he will link up with his former coach Jean Tigana, under whom he played at Monaco.

“I write to you from London where I will not delay in signing for Fulham on loan with an opton to buy,” he declared.

“It all began last week on my return from my holidays in Parma. I received a call from my leaders asking me to come for the blood tests and traditional medical examinations for the beginning of the season.

“There it was announced that I would depart for England.

“In the afternoon, there was a new appointment with the team and I asked to remain at the training centre, thus I did not accompany the group ontheir pre-season training course.

“I remained with Parma where I discussed with the leaders to decide on the continuation of my career.

“Finally, I left on Monday morning for London where I had my physical tests.

“It finished very late and, at the end of the day, I was told they were good and we could formalise the loan.

“All that remains if for me to return to Italy to sign my engagement.”
