France national team coach Raymond Domenech has been given a touchline ban for France’s Euro 2008 qualifier with Italy.
Domenech was handed the suspension by Uefa following comments in which he referred to match-fixing in Italian football.
In an interview with Le Parisien earlier this month, Domenech alleged a referee had been ‘bought’ for a youth game between France and Italy several years ago.
Uefa has looked into the comments and has served Domenech with a one-game suspension and a €6,000 fine.
Domenech has been given three days to appeal to Uefa’s Control and Disciplinary board against the punishment.
