France coach Raymond Domenech believes complacency could prove the biggest obstacle to his team fulfilling their potential.

Speaking ahead of France’s meeting with the Faroe Islands, Domenech criticised his team for their approach to recent matches.

Domenech was speaking in the wake of France’s surprise 1-0 defeat to Scotland – a result which brought the French team back down to earth after their 3-1 victory over world champions Italy last month.

“Am I worried? I don’t know whether to say yes or no!” said Domenech.

“When I hear people say we are the best team in the world, things like that contribute to make us complacent.

“Even the media have given up criticising us. I would like a little more worry!

“Good worry is motivating, smug serenity is not.”
