Sven-Goran Eriksson is not concerned about his position as England coach, claims his assistant, Tord Grip, despite speculation that he faces the sack.
Eriksson’s position has come under scrutiny after the FA called an extraordinary meeting following allegations he misled them them over his affair with a secretary.
“Sven is not concerned about his job,” said Grip.
“Nobody at the FA has said anything to him about losing his job.”
“He says they didn’t ask him about what was happening in his private life.
“He said he did not lie because nobody talked to him about this.”
Eriksson’s agent, Athole Still, is confident that Eriksson has no case to answer.
“We are pleased there is going to be a proper investigation so this whole matter can be cleared up,” said Still.
Both Eriksson and FA chief executive Mark Palios had an affair with Faria Alam, a secretary at FA headquarters.
