Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has undergone treatment for a minor heart irregularity.
Ferguson entered a Manchester hospital for a routine procedure which took no more than a couple of hours.
The United manager is expected to report back to United’s training ground on Friday.
Manchester United released a statement on Thursday night which said: “Sir Alex Ferguson received a treatment in hospital today following a routine check up several months ago which revealed a minor heart irregularity.
“The procedure went well and Sir Alex Ferguson is resting at home and is due in work on Friday. “The treatment revealed he has no underlying heart problem.”
Ferguson’s health scare may call into question the new three-year deal he is expected to sign with Manchester United next week.
