FIFA have announced that they are still hoping to resolve any outstanding World Cup ticketing problems in talks with hosts Germany.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter admitted there were concerns, particularly over the issue of ‘transferred’ tickets and the attendant security problems.

“There needs to be some talking and we need to find some flexibility on this issue,” Blattersaid.

The organisers have demanded that all ticket-holders present identification to prove that they are the same people as those whose names appear on the tickets.

“It is a problem between the German interior ministry on the one side and the other people on the other,” said FIFA general secretary Urs Linsi.

Linsi admitted that the strict policy of the hosts could lead to security problems, especially if large numbers of supporters are turned away from matches because their names are not on the tickets they hold.
