Frozen pitch forces UEFA Cup postponement

The UEFA Cup match between Wisla Krakow and and Lazio has been postponed because of an icy pitch, UEFA have confirmed.

No new date for the fourth round, second leg match has been set.

‘After last night’s practice session, Lazio officials gave UEFA their negative opinion about the quality of the pitch. They said the field is too hard to play on,’ Wisla spokesman Jaroslaw Krzoska said.

Adverse weather conditions earlierthis week put the fixture in doubt and with temperatures forecast to plunge in the next few hours, UEFA felt compelled to call the game off.

Last week the two sides fought out ann entertaining 3-3.
