Thirty-one year old Inter defender Carlos Gamarra has spoken about his frustration at spending long periods of the season sitting on the bench.

Paraguayan Gamarra was a summer signing by Hector Cuper after impressing on a season long loanat Greek side AEK Athens. He joined from Flamengo but has struggled to get a consistent first team spot.

“I am thirty one years old and it is not a good age to spend time not playing,” points out Gamarra.

“I have been playing first division football for twelve years and I have never gone through this situation of spending so much time on the bench.”

His frustration may be short lived, however; Sao Paolo may be interested in taking him back to Brazil in the summer and Gamarra admitted “he would study any offer very seriously indeed”.
