England midfielder Owen Hargreaves, who has been the subject of much transfer speculation, has committed his future to Bayern Munich until 2006.
Hargreaves agreed a two-year extension to his current contract. Thenews will come as a disappointment to several Premier League clubs, most notably Arsenal and Liverpool, both of whom are known to be interested in the midfielder.
Speculation about the future of the 21-year-old has intensified this season, due to his inability to establish himself as a regular in the Bayern starting eleven.
But Hargreaves, who has always maintained he was happy in Germany, has silenced all talk of a move by signing the new deal.
