Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is a target for Spanish giants Barcelona and according to the player’s agent, Chelsea would be prepared to sell the prolific striker if they receive the right offer.
Hasselbaink is one of a trio of strikers being pursued by Barcelona sincethe collapse of Mario Jardel’s move from Sporting Lisbon.
Mallorca’s Albert Luque and Deportivo de La Coruna’s Diego Tristan are the others reportedly on Barcelona’s shopping list.
“It is obvious that if a team like Barcelona is interested then any player would be interested in listening,” said Humphrey Nijman, Hasselbaink’s agent.
“What first has to happen is that there has to been official approach.
“The only thing that is publicly known is that if there was an appropriate offer then Chelsea would sell him.”
Cash-strapped Chelsea have dropped their asking price for the 30-year-old striker from a prohibitively expensive £15 million to a more appealing £8 million.
The player himself did nothing to play down the rumours.
“Barca are a huge club and van Gaal is one of the best managers,”he said.
“It is an excellent combination and I would like to be part of it.”
