Chelsea’s Dutch striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has pledged to stay at Stamford Bridge for the rest of hiscareer.

Hasselbaink made the pledge following rumors of a move to Barcelona and the confession by Chelsea coach Claudio Ranieri that he would sell Hasselbaink if Barcelona made an offer.

Hasselbaink, 30, has made just 18 starts in the premier league this season, losing his place in the starting 11 to Gianfranco Zola and Eidur Gudjohnsen.

“I’d like to finish my career at Chelsea if it’s possible,’ said Hasselbaink.

“It’s still really far away, but I feel at home here. You can always look for something better, but is there something better? I don’t know.”

He added. “I’m settled at Chelsea and it’s not a must that I have to look for a bigger or better club.

“Chelsea is close to my heart and I’m happy here, my girlfriend is happy here and my brothers and sisters can come and visit on a 45-minute flight from Amsterdam.”

Hasselbaink has played for seven different clubs during his career and it was rumored he was poised to move to Barcelona in January before Louis Van Gaal left and the deal fell through.

“A deal was not done to my knowledge. I’ve not spoken to Van Gaal or anyoneat Barcelona. My agent was called a lot of times, but I don’t know if a deal was done.

“I haven’t asked about it. I know people are talking about it, but don’t know if there’s been contact between the clubs,” said Hasselbaink
