River Plate’s Gonzalo Higuain is set to turn down the chance to represent France.

France coach Raymond Domenech named the teenager, who is elegible to play for Les Bleus or Argentina, in his squad for next Wednesday’s friendly international against Greece.

Higuain admitted earlier in the week that he was unsure whether to represent the country of his birth, France, or the home of his parents, Argentina.

It would appear that he is still torn between the two, as his father Jorge Higuain said: “Gonzalo doesn’t want to come to France for the moment.

“He has other projects.”
