Lyon boss Gerard Houllier has dismissed reports linking him with the England job.

The former Liverpool manager has been suggested as possible replacement for Sven Goran Eriksson when the Swede steps down after the World Cup finals.

The Frenchman howvere, was happy to confirm that he is happy at Lyon.

“Absolutely not,” Houllier told the Daily Telegraph when asked whether he was a candidate to replace Eriksson.

“I have not put my name forward and I have not been interviewed.

“Because of my strong ties with Liverpool, England will always be a very special place for me – a second home if you like.

“But the national manager should be an Englishman. I am very happy at Lyon.”
