Hermann Hreidarsson looks set for an immediate return to the Premiership after Ipswich agreed a deal for the Icelandic defender with newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion.

Ipswich, who were relegated from the top flight last season, have agreed a fee with the Baggies for Hreidarsson.

The club, who must reduce overheads following last season’s relegation, had already sold Titus Bramble to Newcastle earlier in the summer.

“We have reluctantly accepted an offer for Hermann from West Brom and the playerhas been given permission to discuss personal terms with them,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
