Tottenham won this fixture 2-1 this season but Liverpool haven’t lost an opening day fixture under Rafael Benitez – who will come out on top?

Hull City have completed the signing of Stephen Hunt from Reading for an undisclosed fee.

Hunt’s future has been the subject of speculation since Reading were relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2007-8 campaign.

The Republic of Ireland international stayed at the Madejski Stadium but the club’s failure to bounce straight back up convinced him to leave.

Reading director of football Nick Hammond thanked Hunt for his contribution to the club since his arrival from Brentford in 2005.

He said: “Stephen Hunt has been a very effective player in the four years he has been at Reading Football Club, and given us great value.

“He developed enormously as a player here, coming to us on a free transfer and going on to become an established international player.

“He has made it known for some time that he was ready for a new challenge, and this is a good move for all three parties.

“We wish him all the very best for the future.”
