Fulham have completed the signing Junichi Inamoto on a one-year loan deal, the English Premiership club have confirmed.
Craven Cottage boss Jean Tigana of France had been impressed by Inamoto’s performances for Japan during the World Cup but was reluctant to take the player on a permanent basis until he had demonstrated his ability to cope with the rigous of the Premierrship. The 23-year-old has therefore agreed to a one-year contract with the option of signing for a further three years.
Inamoto was with Arsenal last season but failed to make an impact and did not start one Premier League fixture for the Gunners.
A Fulham statement read: “Fulham Football Club today announce the signing of Junichi Inamoto from Gamba Osaka on a one-year loan agreement, with an option for three further years on a permanent basis.
“The agreement could see Inamoto at Fulham until the summer of 2006. He joined up with the squad this morning for training.”
