Internazionale are set to be investigated after allegations that the club spied on referee Massimo De Santis in 2002.

The official, who is currently serving a four-year ban for his involvement in the match-fixing scandal, has accused the club and in particular president Massimo Moratti of hiring a private investigator to tap his phone.

“It’s absolutely groundless. Inter aren’t involved,” Moratti insisted.

“I think they are really serious because you can’t ignore the damage he is causing by making these statements.”
