After a record-breaking 803 minutes without conceding, Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn’s goal, was finally breached by Hamburg striker Naohiro Takahara at the weekend.

Kahn had surpassed the previous record of 753 minutes, set by himself in the 1998-99 campaign before Takahara fired in a last minute equaliser for Hamburg against the Bundesliga leaders.

Bayern had earlier taken the lead through Claudio Pizarro – the Peruvian striker heading home his eighth goal of the season.

Takahara was the J-League Player of the Year last season after scoring 26 goals in 27 games.

If German Cup matches were included, Kahn had actually gone more than 1,000 minutes without conceding a goal.
