West Ham striker Frederic Kanoute has announced that he will quit the struggling Premiership side because of a lack offirst-team football.
Kanoute, who has been plagued by injuries this season, has recentlly returned to full fitness, but he has been unable to displace the current first choice striking duo of Jermaine Defoe and the Les Ferdinand.
‘I’ve worked hard to get back to fitness after a frustrating season,’ the Frenchman told Sky.
‘Now I am fit I am not getting a game so I have decided my future lies elsewhere. I have made this decision whether West Ham are relegated or not. Enough is enough.’
The Frenchman, signed in 2000 from Lyon, has been linked with several Premier League clubs and there will be no shortage of offers should the striker decide to quit West Ham.
