Wigan have signed Olivier Kapo from Birmingham City in a deal worth £3.5m.
The 27-year-old Ivory Coast-born player agreed a three-year contract with the Premier League club after passing a medical.
Bruce signed Kapo during his time in charge at St Andrews and moved for the French international following Birmingham’s relegation from the Premier League last season.
Kapo is the second Birmingham player to join Wigan this close-season following Dutch midfielder Daniel de Ridder’s move on a free transfer.
