Former Manchester United cpatain Roy Keane is set to join Celtic this week, according to reports.
Keane has been in demand since leaving Manchester United in November with several Premier League clubs expressing an interest in signing him.
However, if the reports are to be believed, Keane will join the club who he once said he would like to finish his career.
Celtic have so far refused to comment on the story, but it is understood that the deal is set to go through courtesy of some financial assistance from the club’s major shareholder Dermot Desmond.
As well as several English clubs, Real Madrid were said to be interested in signing the former Republic of Ireland international, but president Florentino Perez was not prepared to make a move until January.
Keane is not eligible to play until the winter transfer window opens, so the first match he could be involved in would be the 1 January top-of-the-table clash with Hearts.
