Mateja Kezman has closed the gap on Roy Makaay as the race for the ESM Golden Shoe enters its closing stages.
The PSV Eindhoven striker was again on target duringhis side’s 3-1 defeat by Feyenoord, to close the gap on Deportivo La Coruna striker Roy Makaay to just three points.
Kezman has actually scored more goals than Makaay but ranks below the Dutchman due to the lower ranking of the Eredivisie compared to La Liga.
Makaay meanwhile drew a blank in his side’s 2-1 defeat by Valencia on Saturda. However, with four matchesremaining, compared to two for Kezman, The Depor forward remains stronng favourite to lift the coveted award for Europe’s leading scorer.
