Valencia striker Patrick Kluivert is to undergo surgery on his right knee, the Primera Liga club said on their website.
The 29-year-old Dutch international, who has suffered a series of injury problems since his move from Newcastle last summer, had complained of a pain in his right knee after training last week.
He has made only one league start and eight substitute appearances for Valencia.
