Real Betis v Real Sociedad

Sociedad could potentially lose their lead at the top to Real Madrid who are just three points behind but with a much better goal difference.

Sociedad have suffered a dip in form recently, they have won just two of their last five matches and lost for the first time all the season two weeks ago to Athletic Bilbao 4-0.

Betis are struggling atthe moment, they have lost their last two games and have only won three out of their last eight.

Last time the sides met they drew 3-3.

Sociedad will be without winger, Javi De Pedro and Midfielder Mikel Aranburu through suspension while playmaker Xabi Alonso is an injury doubt.

Espanyol v Barcelona

The match will be Barcelona coach, Radomir Antic’s second game in charge, the 15th placed Catalan side will need all three points as they are only two points ahead of neighbours Espanyol who occupy the final relegation spot.

In Antic’s first game Barcelona only managed a 2-2 draw, however it did bring to an end a three match losing streak.

Barcelona defender Frank De Boer spoke of his amazement at Barcelona’s predicament.

“Barcelona just can’t be down to 15th place with the squad we’ve got,” said the Dutch defender.

‘There’s no chance of us being relegated. We’reall convinced that this weekend we will start to climb back up the table.”

Espanyol go into the game on the back of some impressive results, having not lost in five games and last week drew with league leaders Real Sociedad 0-0. The week before they held second placed Real Madrid to a 2-2 draw.

Osasuna v Real Madrid
