Bayern Munich defender Bixente Lizarazu is to retire at the end of the season to take up a career in television.
The 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championship winner with France and also helped Bayern win the Champions League in 2001.
He retired from international football in 2004 after winning 97 caps.
“My last match will be for Bayern Munich on May 13,” the 36-year-old said.
Lizarazu is set to win his sixth German Bundesliga title this season and has also won the German Cup five times.
