Lazio striker Claudio Lopez has criticised his Argentinan team-mates Hernan Crespo and Gabriel Batistuta following the country’s World Cup fiasco.
“Crespo didn’t get anything right but now he is accusing me of missing chances against Sweden,” said Lopez.
“During the tournament I asked that he gave more because the team needed him,’ the Lazio man added. ‘He didn’t bother himself, though, and we saw what happened.
Batistuta was another to incur the wrath of Lopez. “The ones who should score goals should take responsibility. He (Batistuta) was the main striker.
“He always had the goal in front of him, while I was coming from the left. It was easier for him, and if he thinks anything different, he should give the number nine shirt to me, and he should play on the left side, running behind the number four of the other team, getting the ball, running back to opponents’ box and sending in balls for the striker.
“The blamedoesn’t lie with one person or another. We all have to take responsibility.” Lopez added.
