Mantorrasa target for Real Madrid

Real Madrid are believed to be on the trail of of Benfica striker Pedro ‘Mantorras’ Manuel, a player who has already been dubbed the ‘African Pele’.

After winning the African U/20 Championship and the 2001 African Young Player of the Year, the 21-year-old Angolan international is being lauded as one of the best talents to have emerged from Africa.

Discussing the speculation, Mantorras said: ‘Both teams are still in the negotiating phase, but I believe that everything will be sorted out at the beginning of next month.’

Mantorras joined Benfica for œ3.5million from Alverca.
