Milan have abandoned plans to sign Brazilian midfielder Emerson from Real Madrid.
According to reports in Italy and Spain an agreement was close to completion, but it now seems that the deal has collapsed, with no hope of it being revived.
“The negotiation for Emerson has failed,” read a Milan statement.
“Milan deny to have signed the Real Madrid player. It hasn’t been possible finding an economical agreement between the two clubs.”
Emerson looked set to complete a season-long loan move to the San Siro, which would have been made permanent the following summer.
