Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has revealed that his car was attacked by Napoli fans after Sunday’s 0-0 draw between the clubs.

Fans slashed the tires of the car and pounded the vehicle with kicks and punches.

“It was very scary and it could have ended up worse if they broke the windows,” Galliani said in Tuesday’s Gazzetta dello Sport. “Luckily, police eventually intervened.”

Tempers flared after the game at Naples’ San Paolo stadium. Napoli’s Marek Hamsik had a goal disallowed for a controversial offside call in the 37th minute.

But Galliani didn’t believe the attack was premeditated.

“There were lots of people around, traffic and then they recognized me and began insulting,” he said.
