Man Utd have opened up a five point gap at the top of the table, and with a home game against Blackburn on Saturday things are looking rosey for the Red Devils.

Milan have dismissed reports they are interested in signing Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o this summer.

Eto’o’s Barca contract expires at the end of next season and the Catalan outfit have yet to decide whether to retain his services or cash in and buy a replacement.

Failure to agree a new deal has led to speculation that Milan may try to tempt the 27-year-old to move to Serie A, but the club’s sporting director Ariedo Braida has dismissed the talk.

“It is not reality,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport when asked about the club’s Eto’o interest. “It is all just press rumours.”

Italian football agent Ernesto Bronzetti reinforced the Milan director’s words.

“There is no interest, Milan has other plans and they do not want to sign that player so every can calm down,” he said.
