Jose Mourinho has dropped his biggest hint yet that he will not be Chelsea’s manager next season, claiming that, if the club decides to sack him, he will “walk away a millionaire and find another club in a couple of months”.

Mourinho has been at loggerheads with the club’s owner Roman Abramovich this season, but the prospect of being fired at Stamford Bridge seems of little concern to the former Porto boss.

“The only pressure is the pressure I put on myself,” said the Chelsea boss. “I don’t accept pressure from other people. If people write bad things about me, I don’t get depressed about that.

“If the club decides to sack me because of bad results, that’s part of the game. If that happens, I’ll be a millionaire and I will get another club a couple of months later. I have a happy family, my kids are healthy, I have a lot of friends and I live a good life.

“I have won a lot of things in my career. I cannot win every time, every year, every week. But no one could have done a better job in this club this season.”

Relations between Mourinho and Abramovich have been frosty since the January transfer window when Mourinho claimed he was not being backed by the board as he looked to strengthen his injury-depleted squad.
