Alessandro Nesta has stated that he would be happy to stay with Lazio, but ultimately it is the club that will decide his future.

Nesta, who has been linked with moves to several clubs over the summer including Internazionale, Read Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United, spoke to Lazio president Sergio Cragnotti earlier this week and was informed that the club may have to sell him.

The 26-year-old defender who is valued at £25 million, stressed that he was happy to stay at Lazio.

“It would appeal to me to remain, but it’s down to the club,” said Nesta at a press conference.

“I spoke with the President the other day regarding my future.

“Cragnotti has said to me that if necessary I would be sold. I have no preconceptions about my destination, whether it be Italy or a foreign destination.’
