Ariel Ortega has had his FIFA ban temporarily lifted allowing him to play in the next two league matches for Newell’s Old Boys.

The former Argentinian international had been suspended by FIFA because of a conflict between old club Fenerbahce and Newell’s Old Boys. The Turkish club are demanding want €9m for him, but his present club claim the dispute will soon be resolved when make a €2.87m payment.

The 30-year-old announced last November that he was quitting the game, but then decided to play for Newell’s Old Boys.
