Portsmouth have unveiled club record signing Benjan, with the striker confident he can help the club pull away from the relegation zone.
The Zimbabwean has arrived in a £4.1 million deal.
“I am very happy to join Portsmouth,” he said. “I have been a fan of English football.
“I had a chance to join Marseille, but I prefer to come here as I speak English a little better than French.
“I am here to score some goals.”
