Ukraine striker Sergei Rebrov expects to be back in training with Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the current season.

His goalscoring prowess for Dynamo Kyiv landed the 26-year-old an £11 million move to the Premiership three years ago.

Less than a year into the player’s contract Tottenham appointed Glenn Hoddle as coach to succeed George Graham and the newcomer did notr see a role for Rebrov at White Hart Lane.

Rebrov who scored 121 goals in 248 games for Dynamo Kyiv, including 28 in Europe, only managed 16 strikes for Tottenham in all competitions.

Since a one year loan move to Turkish side, Fenerbache, Tottenham have replaced Hoddle with caretaker boss David Pleat.

“Compared to Hoddle, who was prejudiced against me, his successor has already indicated that he is counting on my return,” Rebrov has said.
