Israel playmaker Haim Revivo has shocked Turkish football by walking out on Fenerbahce to sign for their Istanbul rivals Galatasaray.

Revivo, the former Celta Vigo 30-year-old, had fallen out of favour at Fenerbahce and his representatives had discussed possible moves to Hamburg and Leeds.

He agreed a œ1million severance deal with Fenerbahce whose officials were furious to learn he had ‘thanked’ them by joining their greatest rivals.

Fenerbahce have threatened to try to tempt Galatasaray’s World Cup hero, Hasan Sas,in revenge.
