Liverpool defender, John Arne Riise’s family has spent the last few months living in fear after they received death threats at their home in Norway.

Riise, who has been a regular starter for Liverpool, first knew his family was being sent death threats when a hoax anthrax envelope was sent to his mother. The family, whose Norwegian home, is under 24-hour police guard, first hheard of the threats when Riise’s mother and agent, Berit, accused a club manager of sexual harassment.

Berit Riise has been the target of a hate campaign since the allegations were made live on Norwegian television.

Riise’s father, Tormod Riise, said: “We feared for our lives we felt we were under siege”

“I cannot believe what Berit is going through. After all she is the one who has suffered from sexual harassment.”

Berit made the allegations towards Aalesund manager, Ivar Morten Normark, alleging: “Normark came up with several juicy remarks of a sexual character.”
