Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard has hinted he is growing frustrarted with Samuel Eto’o’s demands for an improved contract.

The Cameroon striker is looking for financial parity with the bigger earners at the club, but Rijkaard has warned him that he would be prepared to sell any player who places his own financial demands above the needs of the club.

“I’m not quite sure what Samuel is asking for,” said Rijkaard.

“I like for players at Barcelona to feel happy.

“If a player is not happy and another club will pay him more then it’s better that he goes.”

Meanwhile, the African’s agent Jose Maria Mesalles has confirmed both Chelsea and Manchester United are monitoring developments.

“Chelsea and Manchester have been interested in Eto’o for many months,” he said.

“I am sure he will stay in Spain, but he would be a success in any league and England is one of the most attractive.”
